About The Webster Echo

Since 1891, the Webster Echo has served as Webster County’s newspaper of record, covering the people, places, and events that shape our communities.

Founded by N.J. Wolfe, the Webster Echo began with the slogan, “We labor for the prosperity of the people.” More than a century later, we want to carry that same spirit into our work.

Today, the Webster Echo continues that tradition with a renewed commitment to local journalism. We cover local government, schools, community events, business, sports, faith, outdoor life, and the everyday stories that matter to the people who call this region home.

As a locally owned newspaper, we believe strong communities deserve strong local news. Our mission is to report accurately, fairly, and with respect for the people we serve, keeping them informed about the issues and events that affect their daily lives, while preserving the history of Webster County for future generations.

In addition to Webster County, our coverage extends into neighboring communities that share close ties with our county through work, school, business, recreation, and family.

The Webster Echo is published by Webco Publishing and is available in print each week and online at WebcoNews.com.

We welcome story ideas, community announcements, letters to the editor, guest columns, photographs, and news tips. If there’s something happening in your community, we’d love to hear about it.

Thank you for being part of the next chapter of the Webster Echo.
