Can you help? Looking for local content When our local newspaper returned to local ownership, the response from across Webster County was truly encouraging. To those of you who subscribed, renewed your subscriptions, shared story ideas, or stepped up to contribute. Thank you! As we continue rebuilding this newspaper as a strong voice for generations to come, we have to acknowledge one thing together. We need each other’s help. Everyone says they want more local news, and so do we. We want these pages to reflect what is happening across Webster County—our schools, churches, businesses, communities, and events that make this county home. The reality is that many of those stories can’t be truly told from an agenda or in a press release. We usually only know to feature them if someone tells us. So let us know. Is your church hosting an event? Has a student received an award? Is your civic group planning a fundraiser? Did your family hold a reunion? Do you have old photographs, local history, or know someone doing something worth recognizing? We welcome submissions from you. We also hope to expand our coverage of local youth sports. We would like to feature every junior, bitty, and youth league in Webster County whenever possible. If you have schedules, scores, team photos, action pictures, or information about your teams, please send them to us. We know we can’t attend every game, but with your help we can recognize more of the young athletes who represent our communities. We also welcome community calendars, club news, school activities, business updates, veteran stories, agricultural news, historical features, and photographs that capture everyday life in Webster County. If you know about an upcoming event, please let us know early so we have time to help spread the word. We’ll continue covering the state and regional news that affects Webster County, but our priority is local news. We want readers to open each edition and find stories they won’t read anywhere else. Thank you again for your support. We look forward to working with you to build a newspaper that reflects Webster County, one story at a time.
